What is BAG?
The BAG (Bridging A Gap) Weekend Feeding Program was established in 2014 through a grant from the St Luke’s Foundation. The focus of this program is to replace the breakfast and lunches that students who rely on the Free & Reduced Feeding Programs at school will not receive over the weekends and during school breaks.
What is Our Goal?
Our goal is to have a BAG program in every school in the Federal Way School District and that every student who needs the BAG program will have access to it.
Why is BAG Important?
There are over 22,000 students in 38 schools within the Federal Way School District. According to current data, 60% of the students in the district qualify for the Free and Reduced Feeding program. As we all know, nutrition is a key factor in in healthy development and in learning.
